MOTHER'S DAY

Sometimes when you are going through a tough time, certain things bring you comfort. This month has been especially hard for me as we approach Mother's Day.  I am so blessed: I have two angel babies, two children born in my heart, and four children I gave birth to. I think of the hymn, "Count Your Blessings," and I think of each one of my children.  Each one is so special and unique. With their father's help, they always worked so hard to make Mother's Day special for me. The day I became a mother was such a special day, and yet today, I dread Mother's Day.  The memories are sweet and at the same time heartbreaking.

I enjoy cooking especially for those I love, and my children were my biggest fan club. Cooking to bring a smile to their faces was a constant joy. I don't have them to cook for right now, so I made nachos for me this evening. As I ate dinner I thought of my family and once again counted my blessings through my tears.

So to all the Moms out there, "Happy Mother's Day!"  Cherish every moment even the hard ones and don't forget to count your blessings, because you are so blessed.

Count your blessings name them one by one.
Count your blessings see what God hath done.
Count your blessings name them one by one,
And it will surprise you what the Lord hath done.

"Her children arise up, and call her blessed."
Proverbs 31:28a
