Many times I wonder if God is really using me, as I don't see any results. For the last seven months all chapel services and Bible studies have been canceled due to COVID, so I can't invite others to church. I don't have as much interaction with other inmates due to COVID restrictions, so as I go through my day I wonder whether I'm truly making a difference.

The other day I was standing in line for lunch with a couple of coworkers, and one of them (Mary) asked me if she could ask me a spiritual question because I knew spiritual things. The other co-worker (Susan) looked at her and wondered why Mary didn't ask her instead, and Mary told her that she didn't know Susan knew about spiritual things.

I was intrigued, so I asked Mary why she thought I knew spiritual things (I do not go around telling others I'm a Christian). Mary chuckled and said, "Joy, as soon as you opened your mouth and spoke, I knew." I just let that comment sink in. Wow, what a huge responsibility we have as others are watching us and listening to us!

God showed me that He is always working even when I don't realize it. Lately I've been really burdened to watch what I say and to watch how I respond when others attack me. I need to remember to be a light in this dark world.

Mathew 5:16
"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in Heaven."
