LIFE GOES ON

Have you ever gone through a traumatic experience where life seemed to just stop? Does it ever bother you that life continues as if nothing has happened?

I remember awhile back my husband and I had a conversation. He was upset because someone he knew was going on a family vacation while our family was torn apart. How could they enjoy themselves and have fun knowing we were barely handling things emotionally? Didn't they understand that we wanted to have a family vacation but couldn't? Didn't anyone care?

Then just recently I found myself doing the same thing. I was clipping my fingernails one day, and I found myself very upset because my toenails and fingernails kept growing. Kind of silly I know, but I was so upset it made me pause and think about how I was feeling. Logically I was feeling sorry for myself, but emotionally I was really struggling.

Life doesn't stop for anyone. Whether you...
have lost someone you love,
are struggling financially,
have a broken relationship,
have PTSD,
are suffering from an illness,
are sitting in prison,
or are going through something else
life continues as if nothing is wrong. You might feel like life is unfair and nobody understands your struggles.

Out my window there is a bird's nest on a light attached to a building. A robin has been sitting on this nest for days, and every day I spend time watching her. As I gaze out the window these verses came to mind.

Matthew 10:29-31
"Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows."

Matthew 6:26
"Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are you not much better than they?"

If God takes care of the robin outside my window, and you are more important to Him than a robin, cling to Him as you go through the rough times. God cares about what you are going through, and He is with you during the highs and lows of life. He promises, "I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." Hebrews 13:5b Life does go on, and you will get through what you are struggling with one day at a time. You can do it on your own, or God can help you through it. What will you do?
